A determination device for use with a human powered vehicle comprising a detector and a portion detected by the detector. The determination device comprises a determination unit configured to receive an output of the detector. One of the detector and the detected portion is provided on a rotating body of the human powered vehicle, and the other of the detector and the detected portion is directly or indirectly provided on a base rotatably supporting the rotating body of the human powered vehicle. The detector is arranged to output a first signal in a case in which the detected section passes relatively close to the detector. The determination unit is configured to determine a predetermined state from a length of the first signal.
