GESTIÓN DEL RIESGO Y LOS ÍNDICES DE DESARROLLO DISTRITAL: UN ENFOQUE DE CASOS. RISK MANAGEMENT AND DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT INDEXES: A CASE APPROACH

Se identifican 17 cantones con alta recurrencia a inundaciones y deslizamientos para la década 1999-2009. Aquí se realiza una selección de seis cantones con el propósito de mostrar algunas discrepancias entre los datos colectados y su eventual utilidad cuando esta información requiere ser utilizada para la construcción de indicadores y estudiar con detalle aspectos de la vulnerabilidad económica y social, mediante Índices de Desarrollo Humano Cantonal y Distrital.ABSTRACT Seventeen districts with a high recurrence of floods and landslides were identified during the period 1999-2009. For the purpose of this article, six districts were selected in order to show the discrepancies between the data collected and its eventual utility when this information was needed to be used to construct indicators and to analyze social and economic vulnerability via local and district human development indexes.
