摘要

A fieldexperiment was conducted in Chromolaena dominated grassland with the objectives ofudevaluating efficacy of integrated of mechanical and cultural control methods on weed suppression anduddetermining botanical composition of plant species. Results of study showed that in the dry season,uddigging up ofChromolaena was very effective in suppressing regrowth of Chromolaena but not to otherudweeds. Digging out of Chromolaena followed by burning and planting with Brachiariadecumbens was theudmost effective and slashing of Chromolaena every month was the least effective in suppressing weeds.udBotanical composition was shifted with treatments. Stachytarphetajamaicensisand Chromolaenawere theuddominant species in slashed plots, Stachytarpheta and Calopogoniummuconoides were the dominantudspecies in mulched plots andMimosa pudica was the dominant species in burnt plots
