摘要

We consider heat transfer processes in an ice hockey hall, during operatingconditions, with a bottom-up approach based upon on-site measurements. Detailedtemperature data of both the ice pad and the air above the ice rink are usedfor a heat balance calculation in the steady-state regime, which quantifies theimpact of each single heat source. We solve the heat equation in the ice slabin transient regime, and obtain a general analytical formula for thetemperature profile. This solution is then applied to the resurfacing processby using our measurements as (time-dependent) boundary conditions (b.c.), andcompared to an analogous numerical computation with good agreement. Ouranalytical formula is given with implicit initial condition and b.c., thereforeit can be used not only in ice halls, but in a large variety of engineeringapplications.
