Parkersburg Industrial Development Strategy

For several years before the study, Parkersburg, West Virginia, was unable to attract new industrial development, primarily because it lacks competitive industrial sites and buildings. The study sought to evaluate and prioritize the city's industrial and building inventory and develop a strategy to enable Parkersburg to be more competitive. The report contains four sections: Section I highlights area demographic trends and area strengths and weaknesses for industrial development. Section II projects regional demand for both manufacturing and warehousing space. Section III presents the industrial site and building evaluation. Section IV recommends a strategy for accommodating the forecasted industrial demand by upgrading existing industrial areas and developing a new industrial park outside the city boundaries.
