Introduction to Gerontology is designed to acquaint students with the majorissues and concepts pertinent to the field of gerontology. The course introduces various theoretical perspectives on aging, the changing trends in life expectancy and other demographic considerations, the interrelationship between elders and key social institutions, and provides an overview of physical and psychological factors associated with aging. This course consists of 3 credit hours and 45 student contact hours per semester. Catalog Course Description.
