Playa Archaeology: Archaeological Investigations at Reese Air Force Base andTerry County Auxiliary Airfield, Lubbock and Terry Counties

A cultural resource survey was requested for portions of Reese Air Force Basenear Lubbock, Texas to determine the presence, of any, if archaeological sites within the base properties. This survey involved ca. 325 hectares (800 acres) of the 998 hectare (2,467 acre) base that had been designated as high probability areas for the occurrence of archaeological sites by a cultural resource assessment completed in 1982. It was determined that a second survey of the remaining undeveloped areas at Reese Air Force Base (ca. 195 hectares; 432 acres) would be undertaken. This survey led to the location of three aboriginal campsites (41TY113, 41TY114, and 41TY115) at the Terry County Auxiliary Airfield.
