Quantum Phenomena in Networks of Josephson Junctions (Quantum Phenomena inNetwerken van Josephsonjuncties)

In chapter two, the authors give details of the experimental arrays and resultson phase transitions and first evidence for quantum tunneling or vortices. In chapter three, they discuss the experimental observation of quantum interference of vortices or the Aharonov-Casher effect. Motivated by work on the supercurrent modulations in double junctions by other groups, the authors investigated the connections and differences between the two systems that are reported in chapter four. They conclude, in chapter five, with the experiment on the device discussed in the first section of this introduction, that is nicknamed the Heisenberg transistor.
