CBEAR: Bearing Capacity Analysis of Shallow Foundations. Users Manual

This users manual addresses the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. Analysisof shallow foundations is an important part of the design of shallow foundations for bridges and other structures. The manual introduces an IBM/PC/XT microcomputer program (CBEAR), which was designed to analyze the general bearing capacity of shallow foundations. CBEAR can analyze strip, rectangular, and square foundations and considers the effects of such influences as embedment, inclined and eccentric loads, sloping ground surface, and surcharge. The program incorporates the general bearing capacity equations and factors suggested by Meyerhof (1963) and Vesic (1975).
