摘要

The goals were: (1) to increase understanding of eldercare issues among studentsof architecture in North America, (2) to improve the ability of these students to design effective and supportive environments for our elderly population, (3) to foster through increased attention to eldercare issues within the schools, a climate of inquiry leading to increased research and knowledge development activities related to Design for Aging, (4) to strengthen linkages between universities and their local aging related organizations and institutions in order to facilitate two-way transfer of knowledge and experience. The objectives were (1) develop core guidance for architectural faculty on how to teach design for aging in a studio setting, (2) Pilot test the module at select architecture schools throughout the U.S. and revise based on user comments, (3) Disseminate the information via 3 separate but related strategies, (4) Sustain modile through a system of user evaluation and feedback, processed by ADRP and utilized to update subsequent versions of the module.
