The purpose of this guidance manual is to assist Food Processing facilities,211u001eStandard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 20, complying with the reporting 211u001erequirements of EPCRA Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-211u001eto-Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA) and of Section 6607 of the Pollution Prevention Act 211u001eof 1990 (PPA). This industry group includes facilities that produce meat 211u001eproducts, dairy products, preserved fruits and vegetables, grain mill products, 211u001ebakery products, sugar and confectionery products, fats and oils, beverages, and 211u001eother miscellaneous food products. This manual explains the EPCRA Section 313 211u001ereporting requirements and discusses specific release and other waste management 211u001eactivities encountered at many facilities in this industry.
