Initial Manufacturing Exchange Specification (IMES): Information Model for the211 Process Plan. Workstation Level

The Computer-Aided Manufacturing Engineering (CAME) program is developing a211u001enumber of integrated software toolkits for design, manufacturing engineering, and 211u001eproduction operations (1). One of these toolkits is the Manufacturing Engineering 211u001eToolKit (METK) (2). The goals of the METK project are (1) to develop generic 211u001einterface specifications, data structures, information models, and data 211u001evalidation methodology for manufacturing engineering software; and, (2) to 211u001edemonstrate an integrated toolkit using commercial, off-the-shelf software 211u001eapplications. The benefit will be an increase in the productivity of 211u001emanufacturing engineers, and a reduction in the time required getting error-free, 211u001eengineering data to the shop floor. The U.S. Navy Manufacturing Technology 211u001eProgram and the Systems Integration of Manufacturing Applications (SIMA) Program 211u001e(3) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) jointly fund the 211u001eMETK project.
