This report describes the quantity and quality of water in the Highland Lakes211u001efrom January 1983 to December 1992 and presents the results from simulation of 211u001ethe quantity and quality of water in the Highland Lakes for three hydrologic 211u001econditions: wet, average, and dry. Measured concentrations of dissolved solids, 211u001echloride, and sulfate were compared to applicable water-quality standards. A mass-211u001ebalance model was used to simulate 10 years of input and movement of water 211u001ethrough the seven Highland Lakes and to estimate monthly mean concentrations of 211u001edissolved solids, chloride, logic conditions. measured and estimated streamflow 211u001eand water-quality data for the Colorado River upstream of Lake Buchanan, the 211u001eLlano River, and the Pedernales River were used for inflows to the model.
