Sound Insulation of Multi-Leaf Panels

摘要

Sound reduction problems of many kinds of building elements have been long and widely studied by many researchers. For some cases such as single plates the theoretical formulae can give accurate predictions. For the other cases with a little more complication, such as double walls, windows, and alike, the theory can provide quite good evaluations. But, for very common kind of building elements, doors, especially for doors with multi-leaf structure, one may hardly find relevant literature on treating the cases. The reason for this shortage might be due to the difficulty to find a suitable expression for shear interactions, which is between adjacent layers (leaves) of this kind of structures. This project aims at handling the problem, or, at least improving the knowledge of it.
