Foreign Assets Control: Assessing OTS's Examination of OFAC Compliance was Hampered by Limited Documentation

We conducted an audit of the Office of Foreign Assets Control's (OFAC) administration and enforcement of economic sanctions against target foreign countries, individuals, and groups. OFAC acts under presidential wartime and national emergency powers, as well as authority granted by specific legislation, to impose controls on transactions and freeze foreign assets under US jurisdiction.
