Role of Technology in Health Care Cost Growth. Inclusive Dates: 09/01/04-08/31/06

This study has three specific aims: (1) To assess which diseases have contributed most to health care cost growth at the population level; (2) To assess the role of technology in contributing to cost growth; (3) To assess the types of technology that have influenced cost growth since 1998. This study uses both quantitative analysis to identify which diseases have contributed to spending growth and qualitative analysis to assess the role technology has played in that growth.
