This report covers in general the work performed on this contract beginning about June 15, 1953 through December 30, 1955. During this period, nine Quarterly Report were submitted with detailed discussion and data on the following items:n1.Literature survey.n2.Study of low temperature electrolyte solutions.n3.Study of low temperature separator materials.n4.Cell assembly of pasted type cells.n5.Cell assembly of paperlined cells.n6.Capacity testing of cells and batteries at room temperature and -40°n7.Pilot line assembly of cells.nThe details of the above topics are not discussed in this report. Some of the more important items are reviewed along with additional data to summarize all phases of this work.
