摘要

This paper presents the results of an analytical and experimental investigation for the determination of the load necessary to produce any given depth of yielding in angle- and T-section members subjected to eccentric tensile loading. This load is found analytically from the intersection of a constant depth of yielding interaction curve and a moment-load curve. General load and moment expressions used in the construction of the interaction curves were derived for cross-sections composed of rectangular elements. The primary assumption in these derivations was that for small inelastic strains the stress-strain diagrams of the material could be represented by two straight lines. The moment-load expressions were derived on the assumption that each eccentrically loaded member deformed into a segment of a circle.
