This report covers the results obtained from a preliminary investigation of the use of experimental solar reflectors, sweep-beam high-intensity lights, and fluorescent paint as possible means for improving the daytime conspicuity of aircraft.nThe results obtained from the various types of solar reflectors were unsatisfactory because it was not possible to attain a satisfactory flash frequency and effective range and still obtain omnidirectional coverage. Solar reflectors appear to be limited in their ability to improve the conspicuity of aircraft.
