摘要

The rate of hydrolysis of ammonium carbonate has been measured in 0.05-0.25 M sodium hydroxide and found to be proportional to the hydrogen ion concentration. At this Ph, the rate-determining step is the addition of a hydronium ion to the carbamate ion , giving ammosis and carbox dioxide. However, it is possible that the carbamate would have arisen from recombination of ammonia and carbon dioxide, and that these might be the primary products of the urease-catalyzed reaction.
