Single Cell Rectangular Conduits Criteria and Procedures for Structural Design

This technical release (TR) presents the criteria and procedures established for the structural design of single cell rectangular conduits. A computer program written in FORTRAN was developed to perform structural design of single cell rectangular conduit cross sections given the clear height and width of the conduit, two load combinations, and the design mode desired. The computer program determines the required thickness of the top and bottom slab and the thickness at the top and bottom of the sidewalls. The required reinforcing steel and maximum steel spacing are also determined for preselected locations.
