Program to Develop Useful Artificial Heart and Ventricular Assist Devices.

摘要

The objectives of the program are the continued development of a safe,simple,reliable,and effective intra-aortic balloon assist device. Four tasks are defined to carry out these objectives including physiologic-testing,development of a clinically acceptable device,providing assistance to other MDAP contractors,and providing specifications,drawings,instructions and assistance to the Medical Devices Applications Program. Part I of the volume describes the technical aspects of the program and Part II describes the physiologic evaluation carried out at Johns Hopkins.
