Modification of Aerosol Size Distributions in the Troposphere.

A mathematical model describing changes in the particle size distribution of naturally occurring and anthropogenic aerosols in the troposphere is developed. The model considers changes in the aerosol distribution resulting from physicochemical processes within the troposphere, mixing due to transport, and natural processes that tend to remove aerosols. Application to a boundary layer model of urban air pollution is described.
