Introduction of New Clothing and Textile Items into the Department of Defense Supply System

The Instruction reissues DoD Instruction 4100.34, July 30, 1970, to strengthen controls on the standardization of clothing and textile items introduced into the Department of Defense supply system; clarify the types of clothing and textiles that require standardization; provide policy for the introduction of optional clothing and textile items into the DoD supply system; and provide for a formal coordination channel between the Military Services and the Defense Supply Agency for new clothing and textile item development.
