Relationship Between Noise Figures and Other Performance Characteristics of UHF TV Receivers,

There is disagreement within the television receiver 'community'as to the proper noise figure which should serve as a maximum in receiver certification. As part of the FCC documentation for a panel meeting on this subject held May 10, 1978,this report was prepared by the Laboratory Division at the request of Commissioner Washburn. The presentation can be divided into two parts:Operational noise figures of contemporary UHF-TV receivers and UHF-TV receiver noise figures versus intermodulation as a function of changes in the operating point of the UHF tuner section.
