摘要

A canonical model of receiver performance in general Class A interference environments is constructed. The measure of performance employed is the Probability of Noninterference Criterion (PNIC), quantitatively expressed by the probability P(a), Eq, (2.2), and evaluated for Class A noise, with a desired signal (to desired receiver) propagating according to a r to the minus 2 gamma power law, where the signal source (or reciprocally, the intended receiver) performs a random walk vis-a-vis the receiver (or source). Analytical and numerical evaluation of the PNIC is carried out as a function of an appropriately defined input signal-to-receiver noise ratio, for various ranges of parameter values, describing different nongaussian noise fields, random walks with different variances, signal sources with different propagation laws. The relationship of the PNIC to the more general criteria of performance (error probabilities, etc.), is also discussed. Detailed quantitative results, and examples, are obtained and discussed, which illustrate how this canonical model (for all Class A interference) can be employed, not only for land-mobile telecommunication scenarios, but for other situations involving Class A noise and various random-walk models.
