Metropolitan/Nonmetropolitan Work Force Migration Patterns in the Regions of the United States

摘要

This is a study of worker migration patterns between metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas in the U.S. between 1965-1970 and 1970-75. The regional delineation used in the study are the nine census divisions excluding the States of Alaska and Hawaii. The data used was drawn from Social Security Continuous Work History which permits identification of employed workers who change county of employment over a specified period of time. The report identifies the diversity of regional migration patterns.
