This monograph is an attempt to spell out 'Dos' and 'Don'ts' with regard to utilization of animal wastes. The techniques described include urban and rural situations, describing potentialities both large and small scale. Quality standards and quality assessments are emphasized in the production techniques, keeping in mind the basic limitations in raw material choice for quality. This monograph is expected to cater to the needs of a wide range of categories of persons viz., the village headman, the manager of a by-product unit or an abattoir, the renderer, the public health authorities, the veterinarians, the sociologists and the economists, each one finding something specific to look for. The importance of this publication stems from the fact that the manufacture of products from animal waste is a down-to-earth social responsibility appended with a reasonable margin of profit.
