Pollution Potential and Fertilizer Value of Three Animal Waste Lagoons in North Alabama

Data are presented on the characteristics of the supernatant from a swine, a poultry, and a dairy lagoon. These characteristics are compared with guidelines for applying wastewater to agricultural lands proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency. The potential water pollution hazard from overflowing lagoons is assessed.
