Export Markets for U.S. Grain and Feed Commodities, December 21, 1982

Overall prospects for exports of US grain and feed commodities have deteriorated somewhat since the previous report as competition from other exporting countries has picked up. However, the outlook for U.S. sales brightened in several markets--particularly the Middle East. Prices for most U.S. grain commodities at export position fluctuated within a narrow range over the period, although soft red winter was notably pressured by a generally favorable outlook for the northern hemisphere winter wheat crop and by strong competition for export markets from the European Community.
