Informal Risk Capital in the Eastern Great Lakes Region

The study confirms many of the findings about the magnitude of individual risk capital and the characteristics of individual investors and their investment found in the previous studies by Applied Economic Group and by Professor Wetzel. The investigation of the feasibility of creating a market for informal capital reveals that a private, for-profit business operation is preferred but only one quarter of all respondents indicated willingness to pay for the service.
