摘要

The main objective of this study is to lay the groundwork and evaluate the feasibility to develop a rapid assessment methodology for structural parts for routine inspection and after extreme events based on ultrasonic stress wave techniques. The methods investigated are rather nontraditional as they employ either phenomena that are typically not considered in ultrasonic testing (Scattering and dispersion: Chapter 2; Acoustoelasticity: Chapter 3) or they look at portions of the signals that are typically disregarded (Diffuse wave fields or Coda waves: Chapter 4).
