摘要

The study examines the impact of on-the-job training on gender wage differences. Data from the Employment Opportunity Pilot Project were compared with data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics to learn the comparable human capital worth of on-the-job training as measured by wages earned by gender. The authors conclude that women spend proportionately more time in on-the-job training, but they tend to accumulate relatively less marketable human capital than men because they work at lower level jobs and are not as firmly attached to the labor market as men.
