FRAC (Failure Rate Analysis Code): A Computer Program for Analysis of Variance of Failure Rates. An Application User's Guide.

The purpose of this report is to provide a description of a computer code called FRAC (Failure Rate Analysis Code) that can be used to simultaneously investigate the combined effects of various factors on component failure rates. Applications to nuclear power plant reliability are considered. FRAC is useful in mainly two situations; namely, (1) when reliability failure data exist for a class of components from a structured data collection effort (a data base) that must be analyzed, and (2) when component failure data exist for various (non-identical) use conditions that are to be 'pooled' (or 'grouped') as a means of increasing the quantity of failure data while recognizing that the failure rate values may perhaps be different depending on the effect of the use conditions on the failure rate.
