Cryogenic 75-95 Ghz Front-End for the Metsaehovi Radio Telescope

A cryogenic Schottky mixer from-end for 75 to 95 GHz was built for radioastronomical observations with the Metsaehovi 13.7 m telescope. The measured DSB receiver noise temperature is 80 to 140 k over the whole frequency range. The practical design and construction work of the front-end, and also the performance of the receiver both in the laboratory and on the telescope are described.
