3-D Poisson Solver Based on a Conjugate Gradient Algorithm

A program for the solution of the three-dimensional Poisson Equation in Cartesian coordinates is described. The algorithm consists of a conjugate gradient technique accelerated by an incomplete Crout factorization of the matrix. There are no restrictions on the number of unequally spaced grid points in the three coordinate directions. The efficiency of the algorithm does not depend on a relaxation parameter and is superior to Red-Black-SOR.
