Synthesis of New Bifunctional Chelating Agents. Progress Report

In the effort to label biologically active molecules with radioactive metals for imaging, attempts have been made to synthesize new bifunctional chelating agents that retain high chelating capability and specific biological activity. Compounds structurally related to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) are expected to retain high chelating power. The following two types of compounds, diaminodiphenol (DADP) and diaminodithiol (DADT) were chosen for synthesis in this study. 15 references. (ERA citation 09:046646)
