HLA-A, -B and -Cw Allele Frequencies in a Population From Kampala, Uganda

This population from Kampala, Uganda, Latitude 0.3N, Longitude 32.6E, consisted of 161 Black individuals. The individuals were drawn from an urban environment and alleles were determined using sequence specific oligonucleotide probes. The results have previously been published in Tissue Antigens 63, 293 325, 2004. Alleles identical in sequence in exons 2 and 3 cannot be distinguished. Frequency is given under the first allele, e.g., frequency for B*0705/B*0706 is given under B*0705. Consult IMGT database for list of indistinguishable alleles.
