In order to study the effects of fluctuating and short duration forces upon both animals and human beings, a compound centrifuge has been constructed at the University of Southern California. This apparatus is called an Epicyclical Centrifuge, It consists of a small centrifuge mounted on a larger one as diagrammed in Figure 1. Part of the research program involves measurement of blood pressures of various animals mounted on this centrifuge.
