Containers for Mortar Propellant Charges

A waterproof container material for 81mm mortar propellant charges has been developed and characterized in a 3-month program for Picatinny Arsenal. Eighty of the horseshoe-shaped containers were molded for film composed of NC and TNT. Fifty-five of these containers were sent to Picatinny Arsenal for mortar firings. The remaining 25 containers were used to make characterization tests. (Author)
