摘要

Santa Paula Creek, which is located on the eastern outskirts of Santa Paula, has a drainage area of 45 square miles and is a tributary of the Santa Clara River. A 3-mile concrete-lined supercritical channel of rectangular cross section will replace the natural channel of the Santa Paula Creek to convey a design discharge of 27,000 cfs and terminate in a single energy dissipator at the confluence with the Santa Clara River. The model investigation was concerned with the energy dissipator, the flow conditions in the curved channel immediately upstream of the dissipator, and riprap plans and scour tendencies at the dissipator conflucence with the Santa Clara River. The Santa Clara River. The Santa Paula Creek energy dissipator was also used to study the effect of 15-ft-wide access ramps into high-velocity channels for the Cucamonga Creek project.
