摘要

The rate of energy transfer from the first vibrational level of HCl to CO has been determined. Measurements have been made for the vibrational relaxation process for CO in mixtures with HCl by monitoring the 4.7 micrometer emission following shock heating. The time-resolved emission intensity profile is then reconstructed by a model calculation to determine the best rates for the reactions: HCl(nu=1)+CO(nu=O) yields HCl(nu=0)+CO(nu=1) and HCl(nu=0)+CO yields HCl(nu=1)+CO.
