The report describes an analytic model which was developed to portray the activities of an armored cavalry platoon (plus an air scout section) in the performance of a zone or area reconnaissance mission. The model is analytic as opposed to simulatory in nature. The mathematic structure incorporated into the model makes use of a combination of a MARKOV structure and expected value modeling. For certain output variables probability distributions are obtained;for others,expected values are produced.
