The Response of a Two-Wire Transmission Line to Incident Field and Voltage Excitation, Including the Effects of Higher Order Modes

The main objective of this report has been to derive the induced current on a two-wire transmission line due to incident field excitation. Special attention has been paid to the case of voltage source excitation, where the current may be given, at least approximately, using the so-called leaky-wave concept. The influence of the electrical dimensions of the structure on the currents and the relative importance of the higher modes is examined by numerical examples. (Author)
