Study to Develop Policies and Procedures for Implementing a Same-Day Surgery Clinic at the New US Army Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado

摘要

This study developed a set of policies and procedures to implement a same-day surgery clinic and developed a plan for marketing the clinic to the hospital staff. This study examined the financial impact of initiating a same day surgery clinic. The same-day surgery clinic offered many advantages. Medical Care Composite Unit credit began being received for procedures that were already being conducted. The benefit came from a change of some procedures from outpatient to inpatient status.
