Pearl Harbor--A Study in the Application of the Principles of War

This paper represents a special report which will be used to assist in curriculum development by the Air Command and Staff College Warfare Studies Division, Air University. Chapter 1 contains Japanese and American background information prior to Pearl Harbor and describes the attack itself. Chapter 2 analyzes the attack in the context of the principles of war and details the correct and incorrect application of these principles by both sides. Chapter 3 provides seminar discussion questions for use by an ACSC course officer leading a seminar on the 'principles'.
