Family Power: Its Impact on Unit Readiness

摘要

The purpose of this study is to determine the degree of impact the Army family has on readiness, evaluate efforts being made to minimize the impact and make recommendations to improve current Army Family Support Program policy and enhance readiness. The obvious question arises as to what extent improvements can be made and still maintain a combat-ready force capable of accomplishing the primary mission of defending the nation. Old and new policies must be evaluated as to their effect on the family, and conversely, the family's ability to affect, positively or negatively, Army readiness.
