Ferrite Bonding Method with Magnetic Continuity

A simple technique that employs micrometer-scale iron spheres as a bonding agent between unpolished surfaces of sintered ferrimagnetic oxide is capable of reducing hysteresis loop shearing caused by gap demagnetization. Since the gap demagnetizing field is offset by the gap material magnetization, the remanent magnetization of the magnetic circuit may thereby be maintained in spite of joints that are often required in fabrication magnetic circuits. Bonding of lithium ferrite in air at temperatures below 700 C has been carried out successfully and has proven to be sufficiently durable for normal handling, with minimal deterioration of the hysteresis loop.
