摘要

The multicolumn-multidetector gas chromatographic reactor assembly and procedures for obtaining on-column gas and liquid phase first-order rate constants were studied. The reactor assembly consists of a series of five columns in which two void columns separate three packed ones. A detector placed after every column allows for a reactant residence time determination in both phases in each part of the assembly. The capacity for independently varying residence times in both gas and liquid phases facilitates the independent evaluation of rates in both phases because they are decoupled. The first-order unimolecular dissociation reactions of dicyclopentadiene and three isomers of methylcyclopentadiene dimers were studied in this multicolumn gas chromatographic reactor (MCGCR).
