摘要

In microwave imaging, aperture data are digitized, while system performance is determined by the quality of the image, which is usually a Fourier Transform of the aperture data. This research develops a methodology for finding a quantizer in the aperture domain which optimizes an image plane quality criterion. For amplitude-phase quantization of complex data, a novel optimality criterion is posed which leads to a new and simpler optimal quantizer design.
